Icon meme

Comment here with "semicolon" and I'll pick 5 icons of yours for you to talk about on your journal. (Semicolons are my favourite punctuation mark, by the by. What's yours? ;)  )

These are the five crimsonmorgan picked for me.

I've had this one forever. When I first got an LJ, I started hunting down icons and grabbed tons of Final Fantasy ones since there were lots out there that were pretty. This one is of Yuna from Final Fantasy X.

Ah. I love this one. I have strong feelings about the proper use of apostrophes and this icon gives me hope that I'm not the only one out there who cares. ;D

This is an icon I slapped together to commemorate my first experience of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. I was visiting my friends in KY when Jessica played it for the first time. It turned out to be the weirdest, trippiest, game ever. We alternated between bouts of laughter... and jaw-dropping WTF-ness. At one point we decided that Link must have eaten some bad mushrooms and that the whole game was some sort of drug-induced hallucination, hence Link's acid trip.

I was introduced to Fruits Basket a number of years ago, a few months before the series finished in Japan. And Momiji was the character that I really loved. I admired his ability to face his own pain and loneliness and be determined to find happiness in spite of it. That's in stark contrast to the other characters in the series who tend to react to their unfortunate situations by being nasty, aloof, detached, etc. The ability to consciously strive for happiness in the face of pain is something I admire and find very moving. In the anime he's an adorable kid. In the manga he grows up to be a really cute young man so I tracked down a slew of icons of him as both a kid and an adult.

Not much of a story to this one. It's Geofrey/Elinicia and it's pretty. 'Nuff said!
