So I did some fic writing during my long weekend last week and I've been feeling more cheerful since then. Kind of random though fic, though– Seth/Eirika, but AU... very AU. I wonder if I can get it done this weekend.

Oh and as for a the five question meme, I'm really late on these but June was such a strange sort of month... and better late than never, right?

questions from crimsonmorgan

1) What is your Seth's favourite dish?

My Seth? Ooh I like the sound of that! *Ahem* Err... Let's go with something period-appropriate and say roast venison – man's gotta have his meat!

2) Did you ever want to try a completely different style of writing? If yes, what kind of style?

Hmm... Well generally when I want to try something different I find a way to do so. My original writing is very different from my fanfics for instance, and I've tried out a lot of stuff in fics that I can't with my original work – first person narration, shifting POV, the Groundhog Day concept, etc. If it doesn't fit into fic I usually try it out during Nanowrimo. Most of the things I've churned out for Nano have been hideous beyond belief, but the second year I did it, I tried out a story that was basically Alternate History, which was fun as I'd never tried that before.

3) What kind of music do you like?

An easier question would be what kind of music do I not like. I listen to music all day at work so I need lots and lots of music and I like a broad range of rock: pop, hard rock, alternative, punk, indie, etc. (the categories are just sort of annoying). I like music from bands that are popular and ones that hardly anyone has heard of and ones that are local. I've listened to other styles of music over the years too, but rock is what I always come back to.

4) Is there one thing that you want to do but don't have the courage to actually do it?

Travel by plane. It would make my life so much easier... but I get horribly anxious at the mere thought of flying, which is weird as I did take an airplane as a kid and it was fine.

5) If I would force you to write a Seth-pairing without Eirika, which one would you write? (can be a character from another FE game and no, you can't refuse. I have Eirika as a hostage)

Natasha's pairings with Seth sort of bore me and I can't think of anyone else in FE8 I'd pair him with so I think I'd go with Titania from FE 9/10. They're both very serious paladins (both Jaigans in fact) so they'd at least be able to relate to each other.

Questions from saffiremoon21

1. You have captured a loud, sugary, grain-stealing alien. You decide to eat it. How will you cook it?

Who says I would cook it first? *evil grin*

2. Embers has accidentally inhaled Kyrith. What do you do?

Why obviously I would would have to send Bel in there. He would tie one end of a ribbon around Kyrith while Branax would be outside holding the other end, ready to pull Kyrith out. A perfect plan!

3. You can only listen to 10 CDs for the rest of your life. Which ones do you choose?

Only ten? ;_;

Hmmm...

1. The Singles – The Police (Yes the collection. I don't care if it's cheating. ;P)
2. I-Empire – Angels & Airwaves
3. Up to Now – Snow Patrol (Still cheating. Still don't care. And it's a 2-cd set so extra cheating! You can't stop me!)
4. Dear Agony – Breaking Benjamin
5. The Soul Cages – Sting
6. This is War – 30 Seconds to Mars
7. Ray of Light – Madonna
8. Before the Robots – Better than Ezra
9. Foiled for the Last Time – Blue October (Yes I do have the re-issued CD. Totally worth it for the live tracks... which are on CD two, btw. :P)
10. One- X – Three Days Grace

I tried to pick albums/collections that are really worth listening to straight through. There are so many others I could have picked though.

4. A small package containing what appears to be spare time has arrived on your doorstep. What will you do with this newfound time?

Well I'd relax and read and play some games first, but I'd also like to take a trip to KY to visit my friends there. I haven't been down in a couple of years now. :(

5. An alien spaceship has appeared in your backyard. Upon exploring it, it seems that there is a stash of various human internal organs. You decide to replace one of your own with one of these, which are brand new, will match you perfectly, and work flawlessly. Which organ do you replace?

My poor intestines. ;_;

If anyone else wants me to ask them questions, just say so in the comments.

Airplanes are really not *that* bad :)

Dear Agony would have to be on my list of CDs I would listen to for the rest of my life....

*mails you some intestines*

Yes but it require faith that the plane will remain airborne...

I've never been on an airplane, so it makes me anxious, too. Not the actual flying, but everything BUT that. The luggage, the airport. I hate not knowing EXACTLY where I'm going.

Also, interesting questions. I like the "your Seth" one, probably because I've been thinking about that a lot lately-- people's individual versions of characters. :D

I'm afraid I'm anxious about the actual flying part -- or more precisely of the falling (or possibility thereof) part. :(

Your Seth~ It sounds awesome, I know. Roast venison sounds tasty.

A long time ago my Seth decided to love cakes and other sweet things *coughEirikacough*. I don't know exactly why but he does. And Eirika loves spicy food. But in regard to favourite foods there is no canon, so we are free to choose them. :3

I think there are a couple of characters that talk about foods they like (I believe the Syrene/Tana support talks about cooking fish or some such thing and Neiemi and Amelia talk about berry pies), but yeah it leaves a lot to play with. I don't normally talk much about food when I'm writing the non-AU fics since it's daunting trying to keep the in-period feel, but I was recently reading over some old notes about medieval cooking that were really useful and led to my writing a couple of food scenes into some fics I've been playing around with.

Thanks for the questions. They were fun!

I think I've racked up enough miles to get to the moon on various airplanes over the past 20 years.

And yet that knowledge is as helpful to me as the knowledge that spiders are small (and easily squished) seems to be to arachnophobes.
